Psalm 121: 1 I lift up my eyes to the hills— from where will my help come? 2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.
This morning lots of people are freaking out. Donald Trump’s election victory is a huge surprise, no doubt. Where will he lead us as a nation? I don’t know. I’ll be praying for him. For us. For the world. One thing I do know is that our God is still Lord of all – no matter who is president.
“He who keep you will not slumber.” Let those words sink in this morning. They were true yesterday. They are true today. They are true forever.
Heavenly Father, most of us hate uncertainty in life. Donald Trump is definitely a wildcard. Today we lift him to you in prayer as he will be our next president. Pour your grace into him that he might govern with fairness, wisdom, and sober judgment. And comfort those struggling this morning with fear and anxiety for the future. Remind us that you hold the future in the palm of your hand. Always have, always will. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
