Psalm 134:1 Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord! 2 Lift up your hands to the holy place, and bless the Lord. 3 May the Lord, maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.
Today is Thanksgiving Day in the US – a day to give thanks and to bless the Lord for his faithfulness. I have much to be thankful for indeed.
My family is healthy and all under one roof at the moment, which doesn’t happen as much as it used to now that the kids are older. I am privileged to serve as pastor of a local church populated by staff and lay people who genuinely love the Lord. Materially, my family and I are not wealthy but we lack for nothing. And my beloved Dallas Cowboys have won 9 games in a row.
Today I especially thank God for each of you who regularly read this blog. You motivate me to be consistent in my reading and reflecting upon scripture, and I hope my blog does the same for you. We really do need one another in the Kingdom of God.
What are you thankful for today?
Gracious Lord, thank you. For everything. Amen.
