sorrow

Psalm 13: 1 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? 2 How long must I bear pain in my soul, and have sorrow in my heart all day long.

This psalm was written by King David. What strikes me is the raw nature of this lament. David is remembered as a great king and hero of the faith, yet here our hero is desperate for relief.

Even great leaders struggle so why should we be surprised when we do as well? I don’t know. Somewhere we’ve been taught that good leaders avoid troubles – but that’s generally not the case. We don’t avoid troubles, we learn to work through them. To pray through them. Brothers and sisters in Christ, pray through your troubles, your pains, your sorrows, as am I.

Lord Jesus, comfort us in our hour of need. Amen.

P.S., not feeling well today. Please pray for me.
