Faith in action…

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. 7 By faith Noah, warned by God about events as yet unseen, respected the warning and built an ark to save his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir to the righteousness that is in accordance with faith.

It’s obvious that faith involves believing in a God we cannot see. What I appreciate about this passage is the connection between faith and action. In other words, faith isn’t simply an intellectual exercise. It’s about taking action that reflects one’s beliefs. Noah is a great example. People thought he was nuts when he started building an enormous boat in response to God’s warnings. He could hear what others could not.

This morning the question that resonates for me is, “Where is God inviting me to trust him by taking action in line with my beliefs? Even if others might think I’m a little nuts?”

Heavenly Father give us grace to put faith into action, especially when others don’t understand. Amen.
