Psalm 105:12 When (God’s people) were few in number, of little account, and strangers in it, 13 wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, 14 he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, 15 saying, “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.”
God didn’t choose the strongest nation to claim as his own, but the smallest, weakest, least significant in the known world. And through what began as a tiny nation of people, and has now grown to well over a billion people (the Church), God has been about changing the world.
I have to be reminded of this regularly. The world seems so full of problems and conflicts and challenges it can be so disheartening. But God doesn’t need much to work with in order to do something great. Lord show your hand in a broken world, through broken people like us. Amen.
