Psalm 71: 23 My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to you; my soul also, which you have rescued.
The psalmist is asking for deliverance from enemies. What’s new, right? This verse describes the kinds of praise he will offer to the Lord when he is rescued – singing praises with his lips (external) and praises in his soul (internal).
It’s an interesting idea to praise on the inside, don’t you think? I suppose it’s a feeling of joy on the inside which expresses itself with praise on the outside. My prayer today is that I might know even a little bit of this inside-out blessing from the Lord.
