Colossians 3:1 So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, 3 for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory. 

Here Paul speaks of the implications of dying to self and being raised up with Christ in our Christian baptism. Outwardly it might appear that we just took a bath, but something important happens on the inside as well. As the Holy Spirit comes to live within us our entire life gets reoriented. V.2 says “Set your mind on things that are above.”

If I’m honest I’m not always as dead as I should be. My mind still dwells where it should not. I’m trusting that the Lord is not done with me just yet. Amen.
