Psalm 119:97 Oh, how I love your law! It is my meditation all day long. 98 Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is always with me. 99 I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your decrees are my meditation. 100 I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts… 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
In the midst of trials and tribulations the writer focuses on worship of God and study of God’s word. The psalmist believes there is more wisdom to be gained by studying the will and ways of God than studying politics or philosophy or martial arts or organizational leadership or any number of topics.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
I love the image of the word of God shining light on a dark path in which the way forward isn’t obvious. It’s a great metaphor for life isn’t it? Thank you for joining me here. I’m truly grateful for you. Lord, journey with us as we study your Word. Amen.
