Psalm 51: 1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the season of Lent in the church year. Lent is a time when we prepare ourselves for Good Friday and Easter Sunday (which falls on April 17th this year). Traditionally Lent is a time of introspection and repentance. It’s a time in which we get real with God, lay ourselves bare, and ask the Lord to remake us into the people he intended us to be from the beginning.
Rejoice Lutheran Church in Coppell, Texas will hold Ash Wednesday observance at 7pm tonight. The service will also be broadcast on our Facebook page which you can find here:

Lord prepare our hearts for the season of Lent. Transform us from the inside out. Amen.
