Giving liberally…

Standard

Psalm 37: 25 I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. 26 They are ever giving liberally and lending, and their children become a blessing.

To be “righteous” as in verse 25 is to be in right relationship with God. When we understand God the Father as our provider we are able to practice “giving liberally and lending”. There is abundance with God. This doesn’t mean we’re all getting rich, but rather that we can trust we can share with others and still have what we need.

There is so much need in the world it can seem overwhelming. Where do I start? I’m just one person. I can’t help everyone, but I can help someone. So today I’ll be looking for someone in need whom the Lord may place in my path. And if I recognize such a person, I’ll ask for grace to give liberally. Lord let it be so. Amen.
