Psalm 37:27 (NRSV): 27 Depart from evil, and do good;
so you shall abide forever.
So simple. Want things to go well? Want to prosper in all things? Want to enjoy the provision and protection of God the Father? Want to live in peace all your days? Me too. But how? “Depart from evil and do good”.
So simple, and yet so hard. I’m not looking to act ways that are not aligned with the will and ways of God, but end up doing so anyway on a regular basis.
Which makes me appreciate my Lord Jesus all the more. Through Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection, we have forgiveness of sins and restoration of fellowship with God.
And so we “shall abide forever”. So simple. And yet so costly. Jesus gave his life to make it so. Thank you Lord. Amen.

Yep, seems so simple. Just like the two commandments that Jesus gave us: Love your God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself. But how do we do that when we are asked to live in the corruption of this age? Even Jesus admitted that there would be evil and we were to shake the dust off of our feet and turn our backs when there was no repentance. This is getting more difficult to do when we see so many secular people worshiping the current “spirit of the age” version of Baal that is using Marxism and social media to divide and conquer . Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I will not deny him.
