Psalm 19:  7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the LORD are sure, making wise the simple; 

This is a simple, yet profound statement. It can be said that one’s life, to a significant degree, is the product of one’s decisions made over time. This morning the psalmist reminds us that God has made many of these decisions for us.

“The decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple.”

In other words, following the ways of God makes us look wise – though the wisdom belongs to God not to us. Now – if I would only follow those ways instead of my own…

Question: What decisions are you wrestling with that God has essentially decided for you? Will you follow God’s guidance or your own in this matter?

Dear God, give us grace to embrace the wisdom inherent in your decrees and commands. We cannot do it on our own, but through Jesus all things are possible. We pray this in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
